Mini Grants (under $500)
- Human Anatomy Skeletal System— $397 – A grant was awarded to the Caledonia High School Science Department to purchase 11 3-D Human Skull Models.
- Griffins Hockey Game - $500 - This grant paid for the transportation for Duncan Lake Middle School LINKS mentors and students with autism and cognitive impairments to attend a game to practice life skills.
Barbara Gall Grants for Language Arts
- Creative Writing Team—$1400 – Funds were given to the Caledonia High School and Duncan Lake Middle School Creative Writing Team for the registration for a regional and state writing tournament to develop narrative writing.
- Lessons from the Big Toe - $2000 - Dutton Elementary will be hosting Chris Klein who will spend 2 days with students, staff and the public, educating and sharing his experiences using Augmentative and Alternative Communication and overcoming the barriers of living with a disability. Chris uses a speech generating device by typing with his big toe.
- Functional Science - Life Cycles— $262 – Life Cycle kits will be used with Dutton Elementary Cognitive Impairment students to read about life cycles of animals while experiencing models hands on.
Unrestricted Grants
- Stream Tables— $670 –Stream tables will be used in the Caledonia High School Physical Science classes to experience a hands on understanding of how streams are formed as well as variables that affect erosion, deposition, and run off.
- Caledonia Science Lab Probes— $15,030 –Funds provided wireless, web -based data collecting technology for ALL science classes. These probes connect with chrome books and student phones and will allow for faster and more accurate data collection during labs.
- Marching Band Drum Major Podium— $2500 --A new podium for the Caledonia High School Marching Band that is safe and easy to transport will replace to 20+ year old one and allow the drum major to safely direct the marching band on the field and in practices.
- Marching Band Uniforms— $7000 -- Funds were awarded to partially cover the large cost of new marching band uniforms for the Caledonia High School Marching Band.
- Duncan Lake Choir Risers Replacement— $10,334 – Four additional risers were purchased for the Duncan Lake Middle School Choirs as well as others such as the Caledonia Community Choir.
- CHS Student Council Videography Equipment -- $2700— The Caledonia High School Student Council was given funds to purchase a new laptop and camera to produce the Senior Video that is given to each graduating student to commemorate their final year.
