Grant Process
The Caledonia Education Foundation offers grants to promote exceptional education in the Caledonia Community Schools through programs and activities that are not underwritten by the school district. There are two types of grant funds available, those specifically funded by a donor usually to honor a loved one with specific criteria set by CEF and the donor, and general grants offered by the foundation with more general requirements. We offer monthly small grants for $500 or less. Small grants can be applied for by the 5th of each month during the school year. The Unrestricted Grants and Barbara Gall Language Arts grants can be applied for 2 times a year. The deadlines for grant applications are November 1st and April 1st of each year.
Grant workshops are offered about a month prior to these deadlines and will offer help with the forms as well as brainstorming on an idea or project you might have. These dates will be emailed to the district.
PROCESS:
1. Seek out all sources of possible funding including PTO's, booster clubs, community organizations, and businesses
2. Determine which grant form to use and fill out completely.
3. Attach within your form any quotes, further descriptions, and project budget.
4. SAVE a copy of your form as you go and follow instructions to obtain supervisor's approval.
5. Submit by deadline.
6. You will receive a confirmation email from CEF once the form is received. If you do not receive this email within a week of submission please contact us: [email protected].
7. Once approved, you will be required to sign a grant contract with terms and conditions. Once that is returned to CEF along with a copy of the PO, your funds will be released to the Administration Office.
